Listing Description

Cheldena™ brass wire is hand antiqued by me in my studio.
The Brass wire I use is an alloy of copper and zinc and has a
beautiful golden hue when it is hand buffed. The wire is not
enameled or shiny and has a soft powdery coating called a
patina. The patina can be tailored to your tastes by hand
buffing with a scotchbrite pad that can be purchased from
your local hardware store. You control how light or dark
you want the finished piece.

Because the patina is delicate, some of it will rub off your
fingers while working with the wire. This is natural and to
be expected. Some people prefer to lightly buff or rinse
the wire before beginning their project.

I recommend either Renaissance wax or Permalac sealer
to seal your projects.

This gauge is perfect for making your own findings and is
the only gauge I recommend for earwires. It can be used
to wire-wrap beads if you're looking for a heavy chunky
look.

These vintage tin rectangular earrings were fun to make!

This necklace is cut from vintage Victorian styled tin. 

I connected a very pretty singular faceted Swarovski Crystal at the end.

The patina I have applied to these earrings resemble Obsidian gemstone!

I have made similar matching abstract  tin dapped bead caps.

I have included genuine Black Onyx and faceted Opals!

What is the difference between handmade soap and industrial soap?

First, soap is made from Saponification reaction. It is the reaction when fatty acids mix lye and result in Salts of fatty acids,

which is a kind of detergent, and Glycerin, which is a moisturizing organic solvent.

The handmade soap is cold processed which means the nutrients of some precious vegetable oil (such as sweet almond oil, avocado oil, Shea butter) are protected during soap making.

And the by product- Glycerin is kept in the soap which makes it more comfortable to use and performs better in skin care.

While the industrial soap is made through hot process, fatty acids are broken down and doesn’t contain any nutrient.

Glycerin will be removed for other cosmetic making, and many artificial substances (such as fragrances, preservative and surfactant) will be added to overcome its shortage. All these additives can be harmful, especially if you have sensitive skin.

NEW Vintage Filigree Tin and Swarovski Crystal Earrings!

WELCOME!

Today I am introducing my latest creation; these handmade 

earrings which are unique & one-of-a-kind.

Filigree tin design I have carefully hand cut from vintage
tin. The edges have all been filed nice and smooth, and
then hand oxidized to a nice deep brown/black rustic patina
to give them an antique look.
The finish has been polished with Renaissance wax which
freshens the color, and imparts a soft sheen for lasting
preservation.

I have added a touch of accent with genuine faceted
Briolette Swarovski Crystal in fuchsia; which have been fire
polished and capped with filigree bead caps.
They are stunning!

Handmade oxidized raw brass ear wires. However, I am
happy to replace them with oxidized .925 Sterling Silver.

Complete length including ear wires: 2.3/8"

Hello!

It's time for another update. I have been very busy working on many new ideas and also my new shop header! Check it out here: www.cheldena.etsy.com.

It reminds me of a slope of snow or sand on the left where my logo is; and on the right a mountain side with many different shades of color of representation and expression, which I am hoping is reflected through my artwear.

I have made a few new header versions which I plan to use for the different seasons!

 

I am also introducing a new line of jewelry!

As much as I love working with real patina, I also enjoy creating a patina look by using gorgeous Gilder's Pastes.

Here's an example of an item I have created:

This pair I have painted with Gilder's Paste in the colors of Patina, Verdigris, and black. The gorgeous Czech glass beads match perfectly. I used hand aged raw copper to accent & match the beads.
